THE ROLE

The Sales & Category Development Manager (SCDM) role is a headquarter account management role with responsibility for the Care Category at Salon Centric. It is accountable to lead and execute with excellence a Joint Business Plan developed and aligned at the customer headquarters (St. Petersburg, FL) but comes to life in stores and ecommerce nationally.  The Manager is also expected to deliver channel/ brand business targets including growing net revenue and share through superior sales fundamentals (i.e. price, distribution, merchandising, shelving), and through the development of business plans which drive business building upon customer and brand priorities and winning strategies.  The role will have additional category development responsibilities for other key distributor customers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivering volume, share and ROI targets.
  • New item sell-in is to meet established launch plan expectations.
  • Developing strong customer relationships via interfacing with a sophisticated/large customer at the Buyer, Category Manager and Category Director level.
  • Be knowledgeable in the Salon and Retail landscape, competitive activity, and industry trends.
  • Development and execution of all presentations at Salon Centric.   
  • Leading the strategy, tactics, and execution in all JBP activities.
  • Management of short-term and long-term business results, including innovative changes aimed at broad financial impact.
  • Driving distribution, shelving, pricing, and promotion support to optimize spend.
  • Identification and activation of fact-based sales opportunities.
  • Accurately forecast the business.
  • Capture, record, and analyze data to identify business trends and to inform decisions and develop solutions.  Excel skill essential.
  • Managing promotional funds to effectively drive the business.
  • P&L management.
  • JBP & QBR presentation lead
  • Merchandising Strategy process tactical planning & execution

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Marketing or similar discipline)
  • 4+ years’ experience in account management or sales
  • Experience making headquarter or national accout calls 
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer knowledge – MS Word, Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid Driver's License

Desirable:

  • Beauty industry experience

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Pay Range: $75,000K - 89,000K salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life, and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
