THE ROLE
The Process Engineer is an integral part of the DC Castiglione and is responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing logistics and supply chain operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, utilizing data-driven methodologies, and implementing innovative solutions to streamline processes and ensure the seamless flow of goods. The role will provide functional and systems expertise to support the daily operations by resolving systems issues, own the configuration of system parameters and being responsible for the continuous improvement of processes, while he/she will be supporting the development of other DC staff through training of the wider organization. Work with external partners is crucial to enable the proper integration of local applications, software and hardware to deliver the optimum efficiency and capability of the distribution center.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process Analysis and Improvement: Evaluate existing logistics and supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Create workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize logistics operations.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret logistics data to track performance metrics such as delivery times, costs, and resource utilization. Generate reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Work on the integration and implementation of automation solutions such as warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce logistics and transportation costs while maintaining service quality. Analyze carrier contracts, transportation modes, and warehousing strategies to minimize expenses.
- Project Management: Lead and manage logistics improvement projects from initiation to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, IT, and procurement to ensure successful project execution.
- Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Ensure logistics processes adhere to relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Partner with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to improve supply chain coordination and efficiency. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align goals and expectations.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP, CPIM) are a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or process engineering.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with logistics systems such as WMS (Blue Yonder WMS would be considered a strong asset
- Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective project management and organizational skills.
- Work autonomously, self-motivated, and able to challenge the status quo.
- Fluent written and spoken Italian and English
- The role will be based in Castiglione delle Stiviere (Mantova, Italy).
