THE ROLE

Our Wella Area Managers have overall responsibility for business growth within their area. Success will be achieved through exceptional coaching skills of your team, driving discipline in your team operations and working hand in hand with the Education team. You will take a consultative approach with our salon partners to grow their business leveraging our portfolio of product and services to delight their customers

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Account Managers, Key Account Managers and educators to grow & nurture their skills and through them deliver our business goals, it is expected that you will spend 80% of your time in the field:
  • Set clear direction to help your team deliver their targets
  • Help your people grow a deep and intimate knowledge of the Hair Industry
  • Encourage your team to bring new ideas and suggestions to the table
  • Personally lead and role model perfect execution in everything you do
  • Understand all your team members and their personal drivers to get the best out of each of them
  • Actively provide constructive feedback on your people’s work and behaviors in a specific and actionable manner to enable them to be more effective with our customers
  • Deliver monthly/quarterly/yearly sales targets in terms of overall area turnover, number of buying accounts and specific brands turnover;
  • Partner with hairdressers to develop their salon business through action plans to:
  • Attract new clients
  • Drive client loyalty
  • Grow their spend per client
  • Optimise salon & staff operations
  • Improve salon image and equity…

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Essential:

  • You have at least 7 years’ direct selling experience in field based position(s), in progressive seniority positions, using a consultative approach to business development
  • You have at least 3 years’ field sales people management experience
  • You are very organised and operate with high level of discipline
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You are digitally savvy;
  • You hold yourself accountable for the success of your business – even when not everything is under your control; intensively driven & tenacious, determined to get over the obstacles in the path of what need to do; Act as an owner, as if it was your name on the door, as if it was your money being spent and your reputation on the line
  • You are driven to beat competition by acting fast with new ideas executed superbly; you operate at high pace and find ways to make things happen
  • You always push for more and set higher, braver targets; you don’t just want to meet the objectives but blow them out of the water, but never at the expense of ethical behaviour and safe ways of working
  • You are driven to succeed but never at a colleague’s expense; you assume good intent in others; disagree openly but then fully back the decision made by your manager and your leadership

Desirable:

  • Experience in field sales in FMCG (Drinks, Confectionary) or ideally selling in salons/spas
  • Experience in selling to small / independent salons / retailers
  • Experience of contracting and negotiation
