THE ROLE
As part of our Wella R&D Organization you will work in the Analytical team in close collaboration with other functions, integrated in the innovation process for hair color, perm as well as hair care or nail products. Your main responsibility will be to lead the analytical work for registration of oxidative hair color and perm products for the Asian market. You will develop and validate methods, generate analytical data and registration dossiers and assure compliance of methods and products with regulatory standards. Besides that, you will collaborate within the analytical team in the area of chromatography and conducting experiments that are crucial for new product development, toxicological assessments, and quality assurance of Wella products.
- Responsible for analytical work supporting product registrations of oxidative hair color and perm products for the Asian market, with a focus on Japan
- Performs and oversees HPLC and wet chemistry analyses
- Technical coaching and supervision of laboratory technicians conducting analytical procedures
- Compiles and summarizes analytical results into regulatory registration dossiers
- Develops and optimizes new analytical methods in compliance with Japanese regulations
- Engages in discussions with regulatory authorities and responds to inquiries
- Collaborates closely with the internal Regulatory Affairs department
- Contributes to broader analytical projects within the team
- Conducts complex chromatographic experiments and method validations
- Ensures adherence to QA standards and proper documentation of analytical work
- Partners with external service providers
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field and 3-5 years professional experience or PhD in a relevant field.
- Strong background in instrumental analysis, especially in chromatography
- Experience with wet chemistry techniques
- Solid background in analytical quality assurance and the principles of method development and validation
- Experience with regulatory requirements is needed, and working with pharmacopoeia standards relevant to quasi drugs is an advantage
- Scientific rigor and a highly precise, detail-oriented working style
- Management and coordination skills for supervising lab personnel and external partners
- The role is designed for individuals who want to contribute through sustained lab-based contributions coupled with the ability to effectively communicate internally and externally
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international project teams
- Being a team player who values trust-based and collaborative working relationships
- Excellent written and spoken English, German is an advantage
