THE ROLE

The Director of E-commerce will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our consumer e-commerce channels, overseeing a $100M+ business across Amazon, retailer websites, and brand Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) platforms. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, managing large-scale e-commerce, and delivering outstanding results. The Director of E-commerce will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of our e-commerce business, optimizing P&L performance, and driving net revenue targets.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive e-commerce strategy across all consumer e-commerce channels
  • Define the consumer e-commerce channel strategy and the path to uniquely and strategically grow net revenue across each channel.
  • Develop a channel strategy that is differentiated, brand and consumer-centric with a focus on growth and profitability
  • Identify new market opportunities and emerging trends to stay ahead of the competition and drive innovation.

2. P&L Management:

  • Full ownership of the e-commerce P&L, responsible for delivering net revenue targets and managing profitability.
  • Analyze financial performance metrics and market trends to identify optimization and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies, promotions, and discounting policies to maximize revenue and margin.

3. Channel Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of our e-commerce channels, including Amazon, retailer websites, and brand DTC platforms.
  • Build strong relationships with key retail partners and e-commerce platforms to drive sales and ensure optimal placement and visibility.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and agreements with retail partners to maximize profitability and market share.

4. Business Development:

  • Lead business development efforts to identify and evaluate new online opportunities to expand our reach, target new audiences, and grow our business.
  • Research and assess potential partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions that align with our strategic objectives and enhance our online presence.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 15 years of experience in e-commerce leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing large-scale e-commerce operations.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, market dynamics, and consumer behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that deliver measurable results.
  • Excellent analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Pay Range: $185-200,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role.
