THE ROLE
The Head of Sales, DSO and BSG Street is accountable to deliver business objectives, design Go To Market commercial strategy and manage the National Sales organization for all of Wella field sales operations, currently defined as DSO, BSG street, and sales capability. Internally, strong leadership is required to set Sales function direction, secure appropriate Leadership and multifunctional support to deliver, and ensure Sales execute plans in line with target. Externally, the Sales Leader is the Wella Company’s ‘face to the industry.’ influencing and supporting associations, and being a strong partner to maximize joint value creation with existing and prospect customers. Strategically, this role will be an integral part of the sales leadership team. Management of multiple priorities and strategies amongst owned and non owned field teams will be a critical element to balance in this role, including conflict avoidance and growth mix management.
Equally as important as the externally facing nature of this role is to be the strategic voice of the DSO organization with internal strategic stake holders, performance reporting, evolution of trackers and updating and communication of KPIs is a critical component of this role with both our local and global colleagues
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS
- Deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Accountable to meet and exceed business targets for respective market. Leverage all resources available to deliver Gain & Grow across all omni-channels (focus on Salon and Store), and relentlessly track in-market execution to deliver.
- Strategic Planning - Develop omni-channel Go To Market commercial strategy, defining clear where to play and how to win choices, amongst (sometimes) conflicting and competing entities, securing sufficient investment and defining KPIs for distribution, pricing, promotion and merchandising fundamentals.
- External Industry Focus. Represent Wella Company PB to the industry, with strong presence and influence at industry associations and events, deep knowledge and connection with Wella Company PB customers, and personally leading joint business plan negotiations & prospecting of top customers.
ORGANIZATION
- High Performing Organization (HPO). Design Frontline organization to optimize channel and customer coverage, maximize productivity and ensure strong Sales & Education partnership at all levels.
- Drive team culture, capability, and coaching.
- Team & Personnel Management
- Lead operational execution of managing a large organization; including people planning, budgets, national conference, meeting drumbeat, gain days etc.
- Provide Value-Adding Expertise
- Demonstrate sufficient knowledge, expertise and experience to personally role model Wella Company PB standards when interacting externally with industry and customers, and internally with multi-functional colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Internal reporting, performance reviews and close working relationship with marketing and trade marketing colleagues.
- Build and develop a team to be just as competent internally (strategy, data analysis, execution reporting) as externally focused with customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- 8+ years experience in leading sales organization, and people
- Strong 5E Leadership skills to set direction, motivate, manage & coach Sales organization
- Excellent communication, presentation & negotiation skills to drive customer joint value creation
- Analytical, thinking & problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities & budgets
- Externally focused with deep industry knowledge, local market dynamics, key customers & competitors
- In depth knowledge to navigate Wella Company PB portfolio, organization, processes & systems
- Proven track record of strong business results, ideally including experience of selling PB infield
- Ability to travel overnight, work weekends, evenings and long hours in line with industry norms – 60% travel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word)
- Must have valid driving license
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $160,000 - $190,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
