ABOUT THE ROLE

We are actively looking for a Head of Network and connectivity responsible for driving the engineering activities for Global Network solutions of Wella.

 

With overall accountability in the scoped network solution, the Head of Network and connectivity will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage the Network Services function to ensure a coordinated, user orientated service.
  • Manage vendor relationships by communicating effectively, holding vendors accountable, and cultivating a positive working relationship.
  • Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organisation.  
  • Drive the adoption of right network strategy, technology, and automation. 
  • Manage the budget for Network Services including reporting and forecasting. 
  • Demonstrated management experience of matrix and multicultural teams over several continents. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Accountable for the Network Services budget and capacity planning: Manage budget spend on suppliers of all network services. Oversee and authorize invoices from 3rd parties.
  • Manage network supplier relationships, to ensure that the supplier portfolio meets SLA. Complete supplier service reviews, evaluating and selecting new suppliers, and make recommendations for strategic supplier decisions.  
  • Conduct roadmap reviews with relevant service managers and Senior Leadership team representatives, communicating on project health status, milestones, issues and budget.  
  • Work closely with Information Security, to ensure that networks are maintained in a highly secure state, and that operating procedures and methods are best suited to maintain security of the company networks. 
  • Act as the subject matter expert on Network technology and services matters.
  • Manage network and take accountability for the global network service.   
  • Steer network strategy.
  • Drive continual service improvement initiatives aimed at improving service quality, IT and business outcomes.  
  • Ownership of the strategical and technical development of our network to further support our business.
  • Definition of a Network Strategy to support the overarching Business and IT Strategies used within Wella.
  • With our support of our Enterprise Architecture function, define and standardise the use of network hardware and software used within Wella, and the wider Wella family of brands.
  • As Network owner, ensure the Wella IT & Cyber policies are adhered to by our Network Provider (and any sub-contractors).
  • Implementing new technologies such as SASE and Software Defined networking.
  • OT experience with segregation would be beneficial.

 

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING ALONG

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Management.  
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing network environments.
  • Experience of progressive experience in Information Technology management with focus on network disciplines services.
  • In depth knowledge of architectures, monitoring, security control, redundancy, and high availability for network and wireless system.  
  • Firewall and cloud firewall architecture knowledge (Zscaler). 
  • Network performance management and capacity planning.     
  • Knowledge of design, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive security architecture to protect the organization's network infrastructure, applications, and data assets.
  • Expertise in implementing and configuring security solutions from top vendors such as Cisco and Juniper.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols - VLAN, VTP , STP.
  • Experience within WAN Optimization (BGP, MPLS, VPN). 
  • Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW): Proficiency in configuring and managing NGFW appliances to enforce security policies, inspect network traffic, and detect/prevent advanced.
  • Experience with features like application awareness, intrusion prevention, SSL decryption, and threat intelligence integration.
  • Knowledge of Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Web Application Firewalls.
  • Network Access Control (NAC): Experience with NAC solutions for enforcing access control policies, assessing endpoint compliance, and monitoring network access based on user identity and device posture.
  • Knowledge of NAC integration with authentication systems, directory services, and network infrastructure.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM): Understanding of IAM concepts and technologies, including identity federation, role-based access control (RBAC), and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Experience with IAM solutions for managing user identities, credentials, and access privileges across the network.
  • Experience with SSL/TLS encryption, VPN technologies, and disk encryption solutions.
  • Knowledge of advanced networking Wi-Fi system environment.
  • Nice to have Cisco Certified Network Professional or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert
