ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Controller Co-Pilot is a strategic finance partner to the Southern Europe Cluster, supporting the General Manager and functional leaders across Marketing, Sales, HR, and other departments. This role focuses on the financial control and reporting of Sales Deductions, Advertising & Consumer Promotion (A&CP) and Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A) costs, which are critical for delivering the cluster’s profit targets.

The position plays a key role in the financial forecast process, including data preparation, reporting, and system uploads. Fluency with tools such as SAP (including BW) and Power BI is essential.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Drive preparation of monthly rolling forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans for Sales Deductions, A&CP and SG&A.
  • Own forecast submission processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze variances between actuals and forecasts using SAP, and make recommendations.
  • Coordinate and challenge input assumptions from budget owners.
  • Integrate Blue Yonder outputs into financial planning where applicable.

Controlling & Reporting

  • Manage Sales Deductions, A&CP and SG&A-related month-end close processes: accruals, journals, and reporting.
  • Ensure cost accuracy and compliance through cost center reviews and accounting validation.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards to support stakeholder visibility and decision-making.
  • Support the Southern Europe FP&A team in preparing reporting packs and performance commentary.

Business Partnering

  • Act as the finance contact for local Finance, Marketing, Sales, HR, and Admin budget owners.
  • Promote budget ownership and accountability across departments.
  • Support decision-making through ROI analysis, scenario modeling, and risk/opportunity reviews.

Stewardship & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and SOPs for Sales Deduction, A&CP and SG&A areas.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning, tracking, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with the Southern Europe Cluster team on cost optimization and standardization initiatives.

 

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING ALONG

  • 2+ years of Controlling or FP&A experience, preferably in FMCG or multinational companies.
  • Strong knowledge of A&CP and SG&A cost structures.
  • Proficient in SAP, Power BI, and ideally in Oracle EPM and Blue Yonder Luminate.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; other Southern Europe languages (Italian, French, Spanish) are a plus.
