THE ROLE
Our Brand Manager has overall responsibility for select Wella Professional brands in all channels and across the marketing mix and the full brand P&L. We’re looking for a Brand Manager to join our Marketing team. This role will see you building ground-breaking campaigns and bringing bold ideas to life. Reporting to a Head of Brand
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver Market share and net revenue targets for your brand & category by creating meaningful marketing mechanics across the marketing mix that cut through and deliver results.
- Fully embrace the power of digital across brands and through the purchase funnel working with in-house and external digital partners to deliver with excellence.
- Execute with excellence, work closely with design team, influencer marketing media team and external partners to step change quality of marketing materials to reach the aspirational standards of the brands in the portfolio.
- Create, develop and manage brand activity programmes to ensure all relevant activity focus across all trade sectors and markets, and media activity is clear and maximises budgets by brand
- Product Management of full Wella Professionals Colour portfolio, including portfolio analysis and tracking for correct forecasting
- Responsible for NPD launches working to evaluate new launched and provide initiative forecast to global and local supply chain, with input from sales and trade marketing. (Known as Go Gate process)
- Support for the local market planning of the brands in line with the agreed Global calendar, incorporating the creation, evolution, and implementation of brand plans (including all ATL and digital plan) in order to maximise sales and profit potential across the UK markets
- Works closely with Trade Marketing and Customer Marketing to:
- Ensure brand plans, key visuals and claims are deployed. Ensure Trade Marketing BTL POS, activities and Merch and aligned to the brand plans where necessary.
- Deploy specific category projects or new product strategy development to exploit opportunities in all environments and exploit new areas of distribution.
- Data orientated, working with market data providers to gain market information, seeking to improve knowledge and understanding of market.
- Analytical and comfortable working with complex data to glean insights into brand performance and opportunity.
- Live and breathe beauty; champion insight driven, customer / consumer first marketing strategies and keeping abreast of key competitor activities, systematically reporting on activity and integrating key learning’s in UK programmes
- Controlling large and complex marketing budgets to ensure that gross margin and marketing margin objectives are met.
- Working alongside Global Research teams to manage research where necessary
- Building strong working relationships across the business to enhance the performance of UK business: Global Divisions, UK Sales, Education & Trade Marketing Teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You have a business degree (Bachelor required)
- You have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a Junior Brand/Product Management role in a local operational marketing environment, ideally in the Beauty Industry (Hair or Nail category)
- You have experience in strategic planning; you are able to effectively contribute to and influence higher level strategy;
- You are digitally & commercially savvy;
- Your organisation skills are excellent, you are able to prioritise effectively and work under pressure on short deadlines;
- You communication skills are superb, both written and verbal; you are comfortable delivering formal presentations to senior leaders;
- You have a deep and intimate knowledge of beauty; you are perpetually curious about how our consumers see beauty, think about beauty and feel about beauty
- You hold yourself accountable for the success of your brands – even when not everything is under your control; intensively driven & tenacious, determined to get over the obstacles in the path of what need to do; you act as an owner, as if it was your name on the door, as if it was your money being spent and your reputation on the line
- You are driven to beat competition by acting fast with new ideas executed superbly; you operate at high pace and find ways to make things happen
- You always push for more and set higher, braver targets; you don’t just want to meet your brand objectives but blow them out of the water, though never at the expense of ethical behaviour and safe ways of working
- You are driven to succeed but never at a colleague’s expense; you assume good intent in others; disagree openly but then fully back the decision made by your manager and your leadership
