THE ROLE

 

We are looking for a Channel Marketing Exec to join our dynamic and passionate Trade Marketing team. This role will see you supporting new ground-breaking campaigns and bringing bold ideas to life. Reporting to the Associate Director Trade Marketing Retail Hair the remit of this role includes oversight of our in-store and media brand activations. To ensure you have a good grounding in brand performance, you will also be actively involved in brand tracking and analysis, shaping insights and actions for growth. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate hunger for learning and trialing new things, desire to understand the UK consumer and shopper better, and ability to make your love for our brands infectious. Your work and commitment will ensure that our business achieves sales, profit, and market share objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In Store POS & Retailer media

  • Leads instore temporary POS/ online retailer media assets design and production. Work with global team to ensure the timely delivery of suitable assets for in-store campaigns
  • Manages budget & challenges the costs when working with agencies to ensure execution is at optimal cost level.  Negotiate best deals with customers alongside NAM
  • Coordinate Retailer media partners briefing, ensure evaluation of activities and then refine activity to improve ROIs and share learnings with the business and always ensure these are aligned with our brand equity
  • Work with NAMs to ensure for any customer investment we maximise impact with customer commercially
  • Work with Brand Team to ensure that all activity delivers against the brand objectives
  • Deliver within set budgets and ensure brand team kept up to speed with spend by month
  • Establish best in class in store execution for key customers, mastering shopper drivers and ensuring brand activation in key touch points (both in store and online)
  • Ongoing management and creation of temporary in store stands, displays and secondary sites

Digital media

  • Oversee Pence per Click
  • Collaborate with brand, sales, and trade teams to facilitate media tagging (securing trade back from >75% of media)

 

Ecom brand visibility

  • Lead on digital conversations with customers and support with relevant content for their platforms (brand store/PDPs)
  • Ownership of CARS – Content, Assortments, Reviews & Search (tracking, improvement, and content implementation)
  • Ratings & reviews campaign management
  • Plan and track /optimize always on retailer search
  • Ensure that Clicks performs at +1.5% vs Bricks in B&C retailers

Analysis

  • Conduct ad-hoc performance analysis and reporting sales and shoppers' data (e.g. Nielsen, Kantar etc.)
  • Track competitors’ activity and industry trends, sharing key learnings with internal teams.
  • Translate insights / category data into action to support retailer sell-ins

Communication & Best Practice Sharing

  • Be a champion for our brands, maintaining regular dialogue cross-functionally to drive the brand plans in the relevant channels
  • Conduct regular store visits and track competitor activity striving for best in class/disruptive communication
  • Be the conduit between Brand Marketing and Sales Teams to ensure brand strategy is applied, customised and executed with excellence
  • Building strong working relationships across the entire business to enhance the performance of the UK business: Global Divisions, UK Sales and Brand Marketing Teams

 Essential:

  • Experience of customer marketing
  • Involvement in category management preferred
  • Proven success working with all sizes of businesses
  • P&L management experience
  • High level of numeracy, with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organisation capabilities, ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure on short deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong team player with ability to effectively listen, contribute and influence
  • Experience in strategic planning and ability to effectively contribute to and influence higher level strategy
  • Confident in presenting to large groups and influencing at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge of Excel and Word and PowerPoint packages
  • Proactive, results oriented, flexible approach to work
  • Able to demonstrate a strong passion for Wella products & the Wella vision and values

Desirable:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in FMCG in a related role – shopper/trade marketing, Point of Sale, Instore Media agency either client or agency side
