THE ROLE

 

The IT Technician provides technical support to end users, maintains IT systems and hardware, and ensures smooth daily IT operations across the organisation. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and assisting in the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure. This role will also require travel to other Wella locations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technical Support

  • Provide first- and second-line support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Respond to support tickets, calls, and emails in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Support Microsoft Windows and macOS environments.
  • Support the implementation and rollout of IT projects

 

2. System Administration

  • Assist with user account management (Active Directory, Intune, Microsoft 365, etc.).
  • Support configuration and maintenance of desktops, laptops, Video Conferencing equipemt and mobile devices.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, and maintenance tasks.
  • Support email configuration, security, and troubleshooting.

 

3. Network Support

  • Assist with network administration tasks (Wi-Fi, switches, VPN, firewalls).
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues for end users.
  • Support VoIP phone systems where applicable.

 

4. Hardware & Software Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment and licensing.
  • Support hardware upgrades and replacements.

 

5. Security & Compliance

  • Follow IT security best practices and organisational policies.
  • Assist in maintaining endpoint protection and security protocols.
  • Support backup and disaster recovery procedures.

 

6. Documentation

  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, processes, and support cases.
  • Update the knowledge base for common issues and solutions.

 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience in an IT support or technician role (2–5 years typical).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365 / Microsoft 365, and common productivity tools.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and basic networking concepts.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills and customer‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.

 

Desirable

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
  • Experience supporting macOS.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem Management).
  • Experience with Azure AD, Intune, or other device management platforms.
  • Familiarity with virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V).

WORKING CONDITIONS

May require occasional out-of-hours work for maintenance or project deployments.

  • Some physical activity may be required (lifting equipment, installing devices).
  • Travel between sites will be required depending on business needs.
