The Art Director, Brand Concept, OPI plays a key role within the creative process and the expression of the brand.  This role is responsible for conceptual oversight of development and implementation of brand expressions across all channels and verticals, conceptualizing brand expressions for campaigns, digital and print assets, social media, and serving as a champion of the OPI brand. 

This role will partner cross-functionally across the organization to innovate, influence, and champion brand love, while balancing expression with clear systems of communication and customer journey which ladder up to and support strategic business and communication goals.  Reporting to the Head of Global Creative, the Art Director will also serve as a collaborator and leader within the creative department, driving concept and collaborating with the Editorial Director, other Art Directors, Creative Ops, Production, the Design Studio and Digital Design to ensure design intent is carried through consistently across all brand expressions.


  • Lead conceptualization for brand campaign expression and content executions across media with a digital-first approach
  • Innovate and implement executional standards for the expression of the brand
  • Develop design, typography, graphic treatments, along with guidelines, and standards for rollout of campaigns globally
  • Collaborate cross functionally to drive alignment and change within the organization
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with Global Marketing, Digital Marketing, sales strategists, shopper marketing, developers, members of the creative team, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure the work meets all relevant requirements.
  • Direct, coordinate, analyze, and review work from third party vendors.
  • Drive optimization in design workflow, creative process, and overall go-to-market process.
  • Under direction of the Global Creative Director, clearly communicate and present design concepts which meet business needs
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve innovative, customer-centric design solutions for product, merchandising, and cascade concepts into marketing and customer experience.
  • Lead and direct a team of in-house and external designers, developers, and production artists.




  • Bachelor’s degree in an Art & Design field.
  • 5+ years experience in the areas of creative development, photo art direction, design, and branding with a strong emphasis on fashion, beauty, and luxury marketing.
  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of market, standards, and processes in photography, video, content development, and production, as well as design principles, guideline development, and deployment.
  • Extensive experience across all phases of design from concept development, design and production to deployment
  • Deep experience in photography, video, and content development, understanding key players and a strong knowledge and existing network within the industry.
  • Ability to both direct and collaborate with a team and dive in hands-on as needed
  • Awareness of best-in-class digital and in-store environments, packaging, fashion/beauty and lifestyle trends, and competitive packaging across beauty, fashion, fragrance, and other relevant categories.
  • Expert knowledge of trends, competitors, and players in photography, nail artist, styling, beauty, video direction, advertising, and social media content.
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and within the department coupled with curiousity and a constant drive for improvement in processes
  • Abilty to balance right-brain creativity with left-brain process and business needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in fast paced and highly demanding environment.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (emphasis on Photoshop, InDesign Illustrator, Premiere, AfterEffects) and digital design tools such as Dimension, Blender, .
  • A comprehensive knowledge and network of photographers, nail artists, wardrobe stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, and other production resources.
  • Extensive knowledge of current and emerging trends and best practices in creative, branding, marketing, photography, design, and style.
  • Category experience in beauty, nail, fashion, and luxury.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally as needed


  • Experience in branding and campaign development for luxury fashion, beauty and fragrance
  • Experience in a boutique agency setting
  • Written and/or verbal proficiency in multiple languages
