THE ROLE
The ESG Reporting & Data Specialist supports Wella's ESG strategy, sustainability reporting, regulatory readiness, and performance measurement activities.
The role is responsible for managing ESG metrics and KPIs derived from Wella's Double Materiality Assessment (DMA), ESG strategy, and reporting requirements. The successful candidate will ensure ESG data is reliable, consistent, and available for management reporting, external disclosures, and regulatory requirements.
Working across multiple functions, the ESG Reporting & Data Specialist will support the annual ESG reporting process, maintain ESG data within the reporting platform, develop dashboards and analytics, and help monitor the impact and progress of ESG initiatives across environmental, social, and governance topics.
This position is ideal for an ESG professional who enjoys working with data, metrics, reporting frameworks, and business insights while contributing to Wella's sustainability ambitions and regulatory readiness roadmap.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and continuously improve ESG metrics and KPIs derived from Wella's Double Materiality Assessment (DMA), ESG strategy, and sustainability commitments.
- Maintain high-quality ESG data and ensure consistency, reliability, and transparency of sustainability metrics and reporting outputs.
- Define, document, and maintain ESG calculation methodologies, assumptions, and reporting guidance.
- Support the preparation of Wella's annual ESG Report and other sustainability disclosures.
- Contribute to Wella's readiness for CSRD and ESRS reporting requirements through effective data management, metric mapping, and reporting processes.
- Ensure data availability and consistency across key reporting frameworks and disclosures, including ESRS, IFRS Sustainability Standards (ISSB), GRI, SASB, CDP, SB253, EcoVadis, and investor requests.
- Support the management and continuous improvement of ESG reporting systems and tools, including the Sweep platform.
- Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and management reports that provide actionable insights on ESG performance and progress.
- Monitor and report on the impact of sustainability initiatives across environmental, social, and governance priorities, including climate, energy, circularity, product sustainability, and community engagement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, Operations, HR, Finance, Legal, and external partners to strengthen ESG reporting, performance measurement, and sustainability data management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- 2-3 years of professional experience in ESG reporting, sustainability reporting, ESG consulting, sustainability data management, finance, audit, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of ESG metrics, sustainability reporting, and data management.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Power BI proficiency and experience developing dashboards and data visualizations.
- Experience managing large datasets, developing KPIs, and translating data into business insights.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
- Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Climate, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Audit, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience in a Big Four firm (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC) or a sustainability consulting agency.
- Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and regulations, including CSRD, ESRS, GRI, SASB, ISSB, CDP, and TCFD.
- Experience with ESG reporting platforms such as Sweep or similar solutions.
- Knowledge of carbon accounting and GHG Protocol.
- Experience with sustainability disclosures, ESG ratings, investor questionnaires, EPR, PPWR, packaging sustainability, circularity, or product sustainability reporting.
