THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated Manager, Demand Planning to join our team located in Calabasas, CA. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and collaborative demand planning leader who combines strong business acumen with expertise in forecasting, S&OP, and supply chain planning. This individual will deliver an accurate, unbiased demand plan across a complex portfolio, translating market trends, commercial intelligence, innovation, and customer insights into actionable forecasts that drive business performance. Partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders, the incumbent will improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory and service levels, enable successful product launches, and develop a high-performing team of Demand Planners while driving continuous improvement through analytics, technology, and AI-enabled planning tools.
KEY RESPONSBILITIES
- Leads the monthly S&OP demand planning process for the U.S. and Canada PRO business, delivering an accurate, unbiased demand forecast across a portfolio of 800+ SKUs.
- Translates statistical models, commercial insights, innovation plans, pricing actions, promotions, and market dynamics into actionable demand plans.
- Partners with Sales, Marketing, Trade Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, and Supply Chain teams to build forecasts, validate assumptions, and identify risks and opportunities.
- Analyzes forecast performance and business trends to improve forecast accuracy, inventory management, and service levels.
- Drives demand planning for new product launches by validating forecast inputs, challenging assumptions, and aligning cross-functional stakeholders on executable plans.
- Manages forecasting systems and planning tools, including SAP, Blue Yonder, and MRP-related processes, ensuring forecast integrity and data accuracy.
- Anticipates supply and demand imbalances and collaborates with stakeholders to develop mitigation plans.
- Leverages analytics, Excel, Microsoft Office, and AI-enabled tools to enhance planning effectiveness, reporting, and process efficiency.
- Develops and coaches a team of Demand Planners, strengthening forecasting capabilities, business acumen, and accountability for demand planning KPIs.
- Builds strong cross-functional relationships and serves as a trusted advisor on demand insights, forecast assumptions, and business planning decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or Engineering,
- Four years of experience in supply chain and demand planning in the beauty industry or FMCG company.
- Two years of specialized experience in demand planning and supply chain planning activities in a beauty or FMCG environment, including:
- Managing inventory, SAP MRP inputs, product fulfillment, and new product development planning.
- Using SAP, Blue Yonder, or an equivalent forecasting/planning tool.
- Building and maintaining demand forecasts for a portfolio of 800+ SKUs using statistical models.
- Active role in the S&OP process, including demand review, forecast alignment, and senior management approval.
- Partnering with Sales and cross-functional teams to challenge, negotiate, and align forecast assumptions based on statistical trends and commercial intelligence.
- Improving demand planning KPIs, using Excel, Microsoft Office, and AI-enabled tools.
- Previous people leader experience to develop talent, provide constructive feedback, and build capabilities within the team.
- Ability to build credibility and effective working relationships with diverse teams across geographies
- Excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound, timely decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information and changing business conditions.
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $90,000 - $115,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role.
