THE ROLE
We are actively looking for a Manager to join our OPI R&D team. This role will work with internal and external research teams to develop technology platforms and transition those technologies to new products for global distribution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- New product development based on 3-year company launching calendar
- In-house formulation and technical product evaluation
- New technology scouting and competitive nail technology landscape
- Strengthen and expand working relationship with key suppliers and TPMs
- Build claims story and demos for scientific communication internally and externally
- End-to-end project management within Stage Gate Process as well as delivering technical readiness to set milestones, including technical briefs, communication to cross functional teams, formula evaluation, stability, safety testing, claim substantiation plan, etc.
- Mentoring of Jr. staff
- Hands on individual, GLP and organizational skills are a must

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Minimum MS in polymer chemistry, materials science, chemistry or related science.
- 5+ years of relevant formulation & product development experience, preferably in the beauty industry
- In house formulation and DOE experience
- Expertise in polymer and/or coatings technologies
- Significant record of achievement in the development and commercialization of new products
- Strong communication skills and capable of working with multifunctional groups to move project forward
- Team player and exhibit “can do” attitude, responding effectively to multiple demands.
- Strong presentation skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- Experience in Color Cosmetic Industry
- Experience in nail formulas
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison, to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $100,000-125,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
