The Role:
The Sr Specialist, Budgets is responsible for managing end to end budget for assigned brands/teams. The ideal candidate will serve as the liaison and resource for Finance, Budget Owners, AP and Procurement regarding procedures, practices, and deadlines. This role requires someone who can work independently, under minimal direction, and create organized work plans for multiple projects and output requirements in a timely manner. To be successful in the role, the candidate must be familiar with regulations of accounting and budgeting with excellent numeracy skills with the ability to analyze and present complex data in a digestible manner.
Key Responsibilities:

Develops and presents comprehensive financial and budget plans and periodic forecasts for assigned brands, including effective budgeting policies and procedures

Leads and coordinates the financial planning and budget building process, including preparation of budgetary schedules, worksheets, templates, and presentations

Identifies/Escalates/Resolves complex budgetary and financial issues and problems; provides timely, accurate, and informative financial analysis and makes solution-oriented recommendations

Manages Annual Operating Plan (AOP) & Profit Forecast and summarizes finance template for submission

Compares estimated financial results with end of month actuals and analyzes variances - summarizes monthly spends for brand teams & Finance and makes recommendations to ensure adherence to budget and goals

Manages Month End Close (MEC) Journal Entries (JE) – reviews MEC reports, resolves pending/open items; prepares, aligns, and summarizes JE submissions

Continuously reviews budgets and spend to ensure compliance to regulations and company policy; Maintains strong document control over purchase orders, invoices, and records

Ensures Team budgets do not exceed limits and meets submission deadlines

Evaluates plans, budgets and processes for efficiencies, effectiveness, and enhancements

Mentors Budget Specialist for professional and technical development

Qualifications:
Essential:
-
Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
-
3 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Budget Management
-
Working Knowledge of SAP & Advanced MS Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts); Hands-on experience with accounting software and statistical packages

Knowledge of accounting best practices and regulations; Familiar with forecasting methods and data analysis

Strong analytical and numeracy skills

Demonstrates creative thinking, good business judgment, and agility in a changing work environment

Strong prioritization and organizational skills with keen attention to detail

Excellent oral and written communication, including the ability to explain complex budgeting and financial data in plain terms
