THE ROLE 

The Manager, Sales Analytics and Insights position is a highly visible role within the Wella organization providing you with the ability to work alongside key decisions makers to step change meaningful impact to our great portfolio of brands. The role will be responsible for performing in-depth analytics of business trends and key customer data, leading monthly forecast and creating business case recommendations while identifying the ‘hidden relevant truths’ across multiple data sources leading to actionable insights in supporting our Prosumer channels. The candidate will also have opportunities to manage end-to-end execution on important multi-functional strategic initiatives. Your work will be a catalyst for growth on our future business portfolio with some of the largest brands in the professional beauty industry. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Analytics & Insights: 

  • Delivers recurring & ad-hoc reporting and analysis that assists in tracking KPIs including promotional ROI, category share, inventory, forecasting & consumption. 

  • Derives relevant & strategic insights to assist in the identification and development of business opportunities through analysis of consumer, customer, internal and external market data. 

  • Lead monthly forecast (financial and product supply) for all brands while coordinating with Product Supply to ensure inventory sufficiency.  

  • Monitor key competitor activity as it pertains to new products, advertising and merchandising decisions and share key learnings.  

  • Articulates business results & opportunities via presentations & self-led meetings at all levels of our internal organization & to external customers. 

  • Becomes a data owner by maintaining & ensuring database integrity from a myriad of data sources built on a Microsoft Office platform. 

  • Strategic initiatives: 

  • Leads multi-functional complex projects including launching new innovation, revamping ineffective processes, producing materials/tools to drive organizational efficiencies & other projects to support the organizations’ key growth pillars. 

  • Controls end-to-end success on initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing a projects’ life cycle. 

  • Produces and manages project tracking tools such as project charters, gantt charts & CPS documents. 

  • Keeps cross-functional partners on track for timely deliverables and applies creative solutions to recover timelines when necessary. 

  • Presents initiative updates, communicates risks/opportunities & provides direction on a regular cadence to peers & high-level stakeholders. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Essential:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Statistics or Data Science or Operations Management, with a focus on analytics and data driven decision meaning 

  • 5+ years professional experience within data analytics 

  • 2 + years experience leading people 

  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel, Nielsen, IRI, SAP – BW, Business Intelligence (BI) tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik), Database Management, CRM systems, Project Management (Asana, Trello, Jira), Forecasting and Budgeting  

  • Proficiency in Business Warehouse (system) 

  • Certifications preferred in business analytics: CBAP, CAP, PMP, Tableau, Six Sigma 

 

Desirable: 

  • Syndicated data experience (IRI, Nielsen, etc) 

  • Experience in the professional beauty, retail or the CPG industry
