Job Summary:

The Country Tax Manager for Mexico is responsible for managing all direct tax matters related to the operations of the company`s legal entities in Mexico. This includes direct tax compliance, tax reporting/accounting, transfer pricing documentation, tax credit refund applications and ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws. The role involves close collaboration with internal finance, legal, and external advisors to optimize the company’s tax position and mitigate tax risks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with Mexican tax laws and regulations.  
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of all required tax returns and reports.
  • Lead and manage tax audits, inquiries, and disputes with SAT and other relevant authorities.
  • Provide tax advice on intercompany transactions, business transactions and restructurings.
  • Manage transfer pricing compliance, documentation, and reporting in alignment with OECD and local requirements.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company’s operations.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the monthly and annual closing process by reviewing tax provisions, reconciliations, and disclosures.
  • Ensure appropriate controls and documentation are in place in accordance with SOX and company policies.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all tax matters within Mexico and coordinate with the regional finance team and global tax team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax, preferably in a multinational corporation or Big Four firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mexican tax law, including corporate income tax, tax reporting and transfer pricing.
  • Experience managing relationships with tax authorities and handling tax audits.
  • Strong understanding of international tax concepts.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP).
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
