THE ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Your role is to lead Product Development for Sebastian global initiatives, ensuring that the products meet consumer needs and are delivered on time with technical readiness and compelling claims. You will also work closely with Marketing, Education, and cross-functional partners to co-create, support, and amplify our hair care innovation plans to grow our North America Hair Care business.

You will have three main responsibilities:

  1. Lead Product Development for global Sebastian initiatives. Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional partners to define, develop and execute priority hair care projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time with complete technical readiness. Support commercial sales teams with strong claims, science stories, demos, and go to market materials. Engage in customer sell-in meetings as the technical expert supporting the sales team for top customer meetings.
  2. Assess the North America Hair Care & Styling landscape and define strategic innovation opportunities for Wella Co. Understand key unmet consumer and stylist desires.  Assess the competitive landscape.  Develop strong customer/channel understanding.  Identify strategic opportunities for us to win in hair care sustainably.
  3. Support the growth of our existing base Hair Care & Styling business in North America, ranging from co-developing regional initiatives with Brand Marketing to collaborating with internal and external manufacturing operations to ensure that our products remain compliant to the evolving laws and regulations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Hair or Skin Care R&D.
  • Significant record of achievement in the development and commercialization of new products
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence & and collaborate with Brand Marketing and Supply Chain functions.
  • Experience in coaching and developing a small team working for you.
  • Experience scouting and qualifying third party partners preferred.
  • Minimum BS in chemistry, materials science, biology, or related science. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Agile Problem Solver.
  • Effective oral and written communicator, with ability to manage global relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Open to travel globally when needed. (expected: ~5-10%)

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Pay range: $110,000-$125,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life, and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
