THE ROLE

The role of North America Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) Procurement Manager will have end-to-end responsibilities of managing Wella NA’s TPMs in the nail & hair care subcategories.  There are about 20 TPMs with a total spend of $20+ million.  This person will negotiate price, MOQ, payment term and other key procurement elements with suppliers.  He/she will conduct sourcing events (RFI & RFQ) and perform competitive analysis to identify the most cost-efficient supplier.  He/she will work closely with the Global TPM, Raw and Packaging team to implement new sourcing strategies in the TPM spend area with a focus on cost, service, and agility.  He/she will ensure appropriate support and alignment with regional and global teams, R&D, Operations, Marketing and Finance in the implementation of the strategy and projects.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzing and calculating procurement costs and developing cost reduction strategies.
  • Driving purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis, as well as market trends.
  • Managing supplier relationships and developing strong partnerships.
  • Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality.
  • Conducting strategic sourcing activities (RFI & RFQ) and collaborating with global procurement and supply chain to identify and pursue new supplier opportunities.
  • Managing monthly procurement financial review and annual budget process for the spend under management.    
  • Supporting business plans to improve ethical and environmental sourcing.
  • Implementing governance and control including master supply agreement and other procurement policies.
  • Collaborating and supporting Wella’s global procurement team to deliver maximum efficiency and value to the business.
  • Providing procurement support to stakeholders in other functions such as supply chain, R&D and marketing.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, operations or other related fields.
  • 2-3 years of experience in procurement, demand planning or supply chain, preferrable in the personal care/cosmetic industry with multinational companies.
  • Strong ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data, summarize findings and present recommendations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies and managing sourcing events (e. g. RFI & RFQ) including using e-Sourcing tools.
  • Experience with PPV review/reconciliation and procurement budget setting process.
  • Working knowledge of SAP strongly preferred.
  • Supplier relationship management and contract negotiation experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills, both with internal team members, stakeholder and management and external suppliers.

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Pay Range: <$96,000 - $120,000> salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
