Position Summary:

Strategic management of the business within Beauty Retailers with the goal of establishing Wella brands (Wella, Briogeo, Nioxin, Sebastian) as the market leader in sales and service. This position will lead the identification, development, and execution of strategies to deliver key volume drivers for Wella’s portfolio of brands that coexist within a retail & salon environment. The ideal candidate will be expected to create the strategic vision as well as manage the tactical implementation, in all facets, with regards to the brands managed. This role will collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional support to assigned accounts while strategically driving profitability and productivity.   

Joint Business Planning, Market meetings, Promotional Execution, Financial Management, Business Analysis, Forecasting, Trade Spend Management and Strategic Relationship Building. 

Lead frequent meetings with Retailers and their Buying/Merchant teams. 

The role will work closely with our internal teams including sales, analytics, finance, planning, and marketing. The role will have direct selling & account management responsibilities and will also partner with our Trade Marketing and Brand teams to develop selling initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities:

- Key Account Development – Identifies and develops a plan of growth and expansion within assigned channel for existing retail business to increase market share and new partnerships 

- Development and execution of all presentations at strategic specialty retailers for the selected portfolio of brands/products 

- Leading the strategy, tactics, and execution of all business planning activities 

- Management of short & long-term business results, including innovative changes aimed at broad financial impact 

- Delivering upon volume, share and ROI targets 

- Driving distribution, space planning, pricing, and promotion support to optimize spend 

- Identification and activation of fact-based sales opportunities 

- Accurately forecast the business and proactively flag risks and shifts within the business 

- Managing promotional funds to effectively drive the business 

- P&L management 

- Lead business planning presentations with retailers 

- Comfortable with analytics & insights-based selling 

Qualifications:

- 5+ year experience managing a national account required 

- Sephora, Department Stores, Subscription boxes experience a plus  

- Beauty background required 

- High level of analytical capability, organization, time management & attention to detail  

- Forecasting, business planning, trade spend management  

- Knowledge of/experience with syndicated data, planogram analysis, marketing concepts 

- Experience managing buyer/merchant relationships at a high level 

- Customer & team centric approach, P&L focus & growth oriented 

- Passionate about the industry and self-motivated 

- Highly developed communication and presentation skills 

-Exceptional analytical skills, with a talent for translating data insights into actional strategies and providing key highlights  

- Bachelor’s Degree 

- Flexibility to travel up to 20% for retailer meetings, events, and internal meetings  

- Valid Driver’s License 

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles—pay Range: $80,000-$95,000 per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role.
