The Role
The Team Lead, Hair Trade Marketing is responsible for leading the end-to-end Go-To-Market strategy and execution across the Hair portfolio, spanning both Retail Hair and Prosumer businesses. This role serves as the senior category trade marketing lead across all customers/channels and is accountable for translating brand strategy into integrated commercial activation plans that drive category growth, customer engagement, and market performance.
This role leads cross-functional trade marketing strategy across multiple business models, channels, and customer types, while enabling consistent execution across the 4Ps, innovation launches, shopper/customer activation, and sales enablement. In addition to broader portfolio ownership, the role manages direct reports and provides leadership, prioritization, and capability development across the Hair trade marketing organization.
The Team Lead partners closely with Brand Marketing, Sales, Commercial Strategy, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment across strategic priorities, channel activation, and customer needs, while identifying opportunities to accelerate growth across both Retail and Prosumer segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the end-to-end trade marketing strategy across Retail Hair and Prosumer businesses, ensuring alignment across brand priorities, customer needs, and commercial objectives
- Manages and develops direct reports across the Hair trade marketing organization, providing leadership, prioritization, coaching, and capability development
- Drives cross-functional integration across Brand Marketing, Sales, Commercial Strategy, Activation, and Customer teams to improve speed, consistency, and executional effectiveness
- Oversees trade marketing activation across multiple channels, customer models, and business segments, balancing strategic priorities across both Retail and Prosumer businesses
- Establishes integrated go-to-market frameworks and scalable operating models to support portfolio complexity and future growth ambitions
- Partners with senior commercial leadership to identify growth opportunities, category expansion strategies, and customer-specific business development initiatives
- Analyzes the business and 4Ps to define key business drivers across channels and categories
- Defines category growth platforms and KPI frameworks aligned to commercial objectives
- Delivers best-in-class innovation launches leveraging sales enablement tools, seasonal materials, and customer activation plans
- Partners cross-functionally to deliver stronger business outcomes and organizational alignment
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years prior experience in CPG sales/trade marketing environments
- Experience managing cross-functional commercial initiatives
- Experience leading and developing direct reports
- Strategic thinking with ability to balance high-level planning and detailed execution
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage complexity across multiple channels, customers, and business models
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $132,000 - $175,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role.
