THE ROLE

The Business Analyst, CMI, reporting into CMI Associate Director, plays a supporting role within the designated Business Unit/ Brand CMI team. This role will be accountable for ensuring that Wella Company decision making and business planning are based on facts and data-driven by leveraging market data like Nielsen, NPD, Euromonitor, Kline, and a power user of data visualization tools like Power BI.

Guided by the CMI Associate Director, this role is responsible of performing needed analysis by mining the data including but not limited to secondary market data, social data, and connecting the dots with the goal of answering related business questions.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze secondary market data, social listening data, and sales data.
  • Compile the monthly Brand Performance scorecard
  • Perform quality assurance and create coherence cross data sources
  • Extract data from multiple sources and combine them into the required datasets for model building and analytics while leading data integration of various sources to provide a consolidated view of the market with input from CMI stakeholders.
  • Build a strong and long-lasting partnership with key data provider / external stakeholders while leading Data Stewardship to maintain the data quality and integrity of our key databases across different sources/vendors.
  • Become the go-to person for all data related requests for designated Business Unit/ Brand, by defining reporting and partner with CMI Associate Director to communicate the key insights and findings to the key stakeholders while ensuring the data is presented in a clear and digestible format to enable decision making.
  • Support CMI Associate Director to compose business opportunity related deep dives
  • Monitor the competitors’ activities and outcomes through secondary market data and social listening
  • Work closely with IT to ensure all analytics platforms are aligned to our internal financial reporting creating synergies moving forward.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Business Analysis with multi sources data, preferably in Beauty category.
  • Experience working with large datasets: SQL databases, using Tableau, Excel, R, Python or equivalents
  • A Bachelor´s degree with Science Major such as Computer Science is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience solving business cases with PowerBI. Background in Data Science is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of business fundamentals, including sales/share data, business drivers, financials.
  • Experience in syndicated research including Nielsen, IRI, Kantar, point-of-sale data, NPD GFK panels ,etc.
  • Good command of MS Office Suite, in particular (proficient with light understanding of coding in) Excel and (Good) Power Point.
  • Highly detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Strong learning & service mindset, curios, dynamic and entrepreneurial
  • Comfortable working within a fluid and flexible culture; adjusts well to change and/or shifting priorities
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, a second language is an asset.

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Pay Range: < $55,100 - $70,000 > salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
