The Role
The Director, Trade marketing is accountable for ensuring the business is maximizing potential for growth across every channel, optimizes what channel needs, persuades and influences cross functional partners and leadership on Net Revenue impacting decisions and ensures perfect in store and online execution of the brand plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns the overall US Commercial Strategy and determine the 4P strategies and KPIS by brand by channel. Collaborate with head of sales, head of mkg and GM of US market.
- Build the vision of how brands should look like in store / online and build the team action accordingly. Resources, enables and supports the team to deliver this vision.
- Owns the execution of the Commercial strategy and brand plans in all retailers and channels
- Applies and shares expertise to train and coach teams on how to present Wella winning model and focuses on how Wella can drive the categories growths for our retailer partners.
- Leads team and its individuals’ responsibilities to ensure high standards and deliverables are on time. Builds a highly performing team.
- Leads the GTM strategy for all channels (base business, initiatives, promotions)
- Creates distribution strategy for brands in line with company`s growth expectations and brand deliverables
- Represents Commercial function in all strategic planning sessions; Final owner of commercial execution
- Ensures team meets all external deadlines and drives change as needed
- Steers collaboration with external and internal teams to create winning plan by brand/by channel
- Translates global brand vision into trade specific strategies for the retail hair and OPI categories.
- Collaborates and partners with key stakeholders: Marketing, Sales, Supply, Finance and ensures expectations are clear and managed effectively.
- Owns Gain and Grow strategies and objectives for the professional hair portfolio across all channels
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar discipline
- 10+ years’ experience in CPG sales and trade marketing
- US channel/market experience
- Strong knowledge of 4P
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent collaboration skills with multi-functional stakeholders
- Budget management, project management, and strong marketing acumen
- People managerial and development experience
- Strong presentation skills to external partners and all levels of the organization
- Leadership skills: able to develop a vision, engage and enable key stakeholders and execute with excellence.
- Can navigate internally to influence
- Analytical thinking & problem solving: able to analyze complex and multiple data to develop in insights and barriers to growth and propose solutions and action plan to fix; Strong affinity with numbers
- Strong operational discipline works with end results in mind, plans and follows through, meets deadlines, manages multiple priorities

Success Metrics: NR, EBITDA, 4P Metrics (Points of Distribution, Share of shelf, Pricing, Promotional ROI, Share of displays), Innovation consumption
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Pay Range: $160,000-$215,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
