THE ROLE
To continue this exciting journey and deliver on our customer promise, we are looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic leader to join the team. The Head of Trade Marketing, Retail Channels will lead the Go to Market Strategy with a team of Trade Marketing Managers who will translate the Brand & Innovation strategy into external Category growth opportunities for our customers, by channel, and deliver channel growth opportunities through flawless execution. The Head of Trade Marketing, Retail Channels owns the strategy of How to Win with our brands in their channels, ensures fit for use, solves for channel and key customer needs, and delivers a perfect in store execution with our sales counterparts. The leader and team will own the Demand Creation Plan for their dedicated channels, the 4P (Presence, Price, Placement, Promo) activation, and enable the sales teams to deliver against them.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and develops a team of Channel Trade Marketing managers. Develops the team and their skills to drive high-performance results; Increases team capabilities over time through effective development plans; Owns talent planning for respective team; ensures industry best in class expertise of the channel and the Category.
- Defines how to win in the channel and key priorities for the channel to achieve high growth rate.
- Designs category growth plan and demand creation activities to drive our brands sell-out in the channel.
- Leads internal alignment to deliver the right portfolio pipeline from both innovations and sizing / pricing fitting with channel’s needs.
- Designs cross-functional engagement strategies for subject matter expert topics.
- Ensures key deliverables readiness on time according to external customer timelines.
- Delivers key customer strategic alignment and leads key customer strategic meetings such as Innovation Reviews.
- Is the trustful advisor of everything 4Ps for the Brand and for the Category Tarde Marketing team, combining both long term strategic view and short-term details-oriented execution with sales counterparts.
- Adjusts the national 4Ps Go To Market strategy to the channel (Local Success Model) for each brand; ensures respective sales teams focus on executing this strategy with decided priorities to drive best outcome for our brands in store / in salons.
- Ensures the team delivers best in class selling tools and growth stories to enable sales teams to outperform with their customers.
- Partners and challenges cross functional teams to deliver better outcomes together for the channel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields
- 8+ years’ prior experience in consumer package goods sales / trade marketing environment; Familiar with US channels/market
- Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint
- Prior experience managing a team of different profiles to leverage strengths and ensure team will always deliver on time with high quality results
- Strategic thinking –understands rationale and business drivers to build recommendations
- Ability to pivot and adjust; Being able to move from Strategy to Detailed and flawless execution at the same time
- Proactive and Solution Oriented approach – takes initiative to do what’s needed for the business; Manages what is within control to achieve best results while striving for continuous improvement
- High EQ; Ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams with a customer-focused mindset
- Very agile with numbers and problem solving, leverages/creates data for informed decisions, applies a strong growth mindset
- Able to step back to understand the big picture and what dedicated actions will drive most value from the team
- Effective communication; Strong presentation skills
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $165,000 - $185,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
