Global Compensation Senior Manager

THE ROLE

This role reports to and collaborates with the Senior Director, Global Compensation COE,

to implement, enhance, manage, and/or communicate Wella Company’s Global Compensation programs, processes and initiatives. Partners and consults with the regional total rewards leaders, HR COE teams and regional/country People Business Partners on a variety of compensation topics, programs, practices, etc. Leads key projects as needed.

 

Focus areas will be annual salary and annual incentive planning, pay equity analysis and transparency, salary structure/benchmarking analysis, grading/job catalog process and maintenance, and sales compensation. This role requires the ability to flex manage on a variety of projects/topics as well as clear communication skills in supporting our global HR community.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General Compensation Guidance: provide guidance and consultation to global HR community on various compensation topics from a global perspective while partnering with/considering applicable global processes and teams (e.g., Regional Total Reward Partners, Talent, People Systems and Support teams, Finance, etc.)
  • Annual Compensation Plan Administration: work with Total Rewards team and HRBPs to manage, collaborate on and administer Wella’s global compensation plans (e.g., Year End Salary Planning and AIP bonus processes). Key focus on providing analysis (e.g., payout estimates, merit budget guidelines), support on toolkit (e.g., system support/tracking/preparation) and education (e.g., training materials).
  • Pay Equity Program Implementation: key focus on DEIB analysis and related Compensation program design to ensure Wella Company compensation programs are inclusive and drive optimal business outcomes. Leverage best practice DEIB education and reporting requirements to adapt globally. 
  • Salary Ranges/Benchmarking: partner with external survey providers (i.e., Mercer) and Total Rewards partners in reporting, analysis and system updates.
  • Grading/Job Catalog: manage maintenance process including system reporting and ongoing updates and enhancements.
  • Ad Hoc Comp Solutions Support: responsible for ongoing research and compensation analysis to support global impacts to local business decision making.
  • System Enhancements: actively partner with the HRIS team on system upgrades and enhancements to existing and new Compensation-related applications. Experience with SAP Success Factors is a plus.
  • Global Sales Compensation Management: monitoring global principles and providing guidance to local markets. Manage global sales comp tool and vendor relationship.
  • Project Management: participates in, leads and/or manages compensation-related projects, as needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8 – 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in Compensation in progressive and global organizations.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator with the ability to understand global cultures. Includes the ability to influence others and work across cultures with all levels of organization as well as with different functions.
  • Ability to work independently. Self-motivated and results-driven. Taking ownership and accountability for outcomes is a required attitude.
  • Solution/analytical-minded; strong desire to analyze and solve problems.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills. Demonstrates the ability to be agile and multi-task.  Ability to follow through and complete tasks on time.
  • Advanced skill level in Excel, including use of V-Lookups, and pivot tables, is required. Advanced skill in PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to communicate concisely; ability to draft clear and effective reports, policies, conclusions on analysis, etc.
  • A Bachelor´s degree in a related field, particularly with a numerate background.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken required.
