About the Role
Ensure the microbiological monitoring, sampling, and control of production environments, purified water systems, process equipment, and cosmetic products, in accordance with established procedures, GMP, ISO 22716, and COFEPRIS regulations. Support the implementation and daily operation of the Microbiological Daily Management (MDM) system, ensuring timely detection, recording, and communication of microbiological deviations that could impact product quality or hygiene standards.
Additionally, be responsible for the administration, control, and safekeeping of retention samples for both bulk and finished products, ensuring proper labeling, traceability, and storage conditions. Ensure the micro and physicochemical analysis for MDM samples, bulk, FG and RM.
Key Responsibilities
- Microbiological test and sampling
- Perform scheduled microbiological sampling of purified water, air, surfaces, and process equipment according to the site’s MDM plan a well to perform the micro test method.
- Collect in-process and finished product samples for microbiological testing, ensuring traceability and aseptic handling.
- Execute environmental monitoring in production and packaging areas (settle plates, swabs, and air sampling).
- Ensure compliance with sampling frequencies, techniques, and sample identification standards.Administration and Control of Retention Samples
- Manage the administration, labeling, and physical storage of retention samples for bulk and finished products.
- Maintain accurate records of sample identification, batch number, quantity, storage conditions, and expiration.
- Ensure the integrity and organization of the retention sample area according to GMP and company procedures.
- Coordinate disposal or destruction of expired retention samples in compliance with established policies.Laboratory and Data Management
- Deliver and register all samples in the microbiology laboratory following chain-of-custody procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and recording of samples and results in QMS, or MDM systems.
- Record daily microbiological data and trends in MDM dashboards and reports.
- Notify the laboratory leader and Hygienist of any out-of-specification (OOS) or alert results.Compliance and Hygiene Verification
- Support verification of cleaning and sanitization effectiveness of equipment and production areas.
- Participate in swab and rinse sampling after sanitation or equipment validation.
- Collaborate with the Hygiene and Maintenance teams to ensure corrective actions are implemented for microbiological deviations.
- Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and personal hygiene requirements.
- Continuous Improvement and MDM Support
- Support daily MDM meetings, providing data interpretation and updates on microbiological performance.
- Participate in the review and optimization of microbiological sampling plans.
- Assist in the calibration and verification of sampling instruments (air samplers, particle counters, pipettes, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biological Pharmaceutical Chemistry (QFB), or related sciences.
- Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of experience in microbiological sampling, laboratory work, or environmental monitoring within cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries.
- Experience in MDM systems, microbiological data trending, and GMP environments preferred.
- Technical Skills, Perform micro and physicochemical test analyis.
- Knowledge of microbiological sampling methods, aseptic techniques, and hygiene monitoring.
- Familiarity with GMP, ISO 22716, COFEPRIS, and environmental monitoring programs.
- Experience using sampling tools such as air samplers, swabs, contact plates, and particle counters. Understanding of retention sample management and recordkeeping under ALCOA+ principles.

Business impact: This position ensures consumer trust, brand protection, and operational reliability through confidence in the micro test process through the sampling of the MDM process, on time and confident results, ensure the retention samples availability in less of 10 mn.
