THE ROLE 

As a Salon Floor Lead Coordinator at the Wella R&D Salon, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our salon floor by managing the day-to-day activities of product testing and overseeing projects and priorities. Additionally, you will interface with our Formulation and Product Development organizations to understand the projects that require qualification and manage any issues concerning our panelists. The Salon Floor Lead Coordinator is responsible for the overall success of the salon floor, including the products, services offered, and the customer experience. This requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with others and resolve issues effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

 

Salon Floor:

  • Work with the team of stylists to ensure the seamless operation of the salon floor.
  • Monitor the quality of salon services to maintain high quality output.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and productivity of the team.
  • Organize and maintain all tests and products needed for testing.
  • Train new stylists.

Interface with Formulation and Product Development:

  • Collaborate with GTS Leader, Formulation and Product Development teams to understand new products and services, and to provide feedback on their development.
  • Keep abreast of the latest product developments and beauty trends to ensure the salon remains current.
  • Communicate project specifications and requirements to the salon team.

 

Qualification and Testing:

  • Work with the panelists to facilitate the qualification of new products and services.
  • Ensure that products and services meet quality standards through rigorous testing and evaluation.
  • Coordinate with panelists to gather feedback and make necessary improvements based on their input.
  • Review and close all workload/tests in the Wella data computer program.
  • Conduct special projects as needed.

 

Issue Resolution:

  • Resolve issues and concerns that arise with panelists in a timely and effective manner.
  • Serve as the point of contact for escalations and work with stakeholders to find mutually agreeable solutions.
  • Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment for all team members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Proven experience in salon management or a related role.
  • Knowledge of beauty industry trends, products, and services.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • A passion for beauty and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service
  • Basic computer skills. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • State of NY cosmetic license

Desirable: 

  • BS degree in cosmetic science or related field

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $82,000 - $100,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
