ABOUT THE ROLE

The Net Revenue Controller at Wella Company plays a pivotal role in ensuring the correct Net Revenue reporting of our Professional Hair and Nail brands. This position serves as the primary finance support for Sales team and is integral to the collaborative efforts between Sales Account Managers and Finance. The Net Revenue controller is responsible for Gross to Net month end close, preparation of revenue forecast and budget control for sales deductions including promotional budgets. Drives ROI mindset and delivers timely and transparent reporting of sales performance.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Gross to Net Management

  • Own the Gross-to-Net month-end process and maintain strong accounting controls for Sales Deductions in line with Wella standards.
    • Set up and maintain rebate agreements for relevant customer groups, ensuring agreement structures and customer terms are accurately reflected
    • Prepare Gross-to-Net deduction accruals and post journal entries during month-end close.
    • Settle customer invoices against customer accruals in line with approved agreements and internal control requirement
    • Perform Gross-to-Net internal controls in accordance with the Risk Control Matrix, ensuring control evidence is complete, accurate and audit-ready.
  • Own, prepare and update monthly management reporting for Net Revenue actuals and forecasts.
  • Own Gross-to-Net forecasting for relevant customer groups by collecting and validating assumptions from the Sales team and ensuring correct cost recognition  principles are applied.
  • Analyse variances between Gross-to-Net forecast and actuals, clearly explaining key drivers and feeding risks and opportunities into management reporting.
  • Ensure budgets and forecasts reflect committed cost reductions, savings and  investment profiles; enable budget owners to control spend via timely reporting and  proofing of actual spend.
  • Own Balance Sheet reconciliations for Sales Deduction line items to support external reporting accuracy.
  • Maintain fiscal files and records in the area of responsibility to document transactions for audit purposes.
  • Provide SAP support and guidance to the Sales Services department for monthly customer reimbursement transactions.

 Business Partnering:

  • Act as a key business partner for the Sales team, fostering collaboration and providing financial expertise.
  • Partner with Sales teams to challenge and validate commercial assumptions used in Gross-to-Net forecasts.
  • Provide ongoing improvement to reports and processes when needed.
  • From time to time, participate in or initiate process improvement activities to simplify, standardise or strengthen Gross-to-Net ways of working.
  • Deliver regular informal training to Sales teams on key processes related to rebate accruals and settlement.
  • Offer ad hoc support to various stakeholders as needed.

 

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING ALONG

Essential:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  •  Proven experience in Gross to Net area, preferably in the consumer goods industry.
  •  Proficiency in financial systems and tools, such as SAP, SAP BW or similar.
  •  Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  •  Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  •  Strong analytical skills and the ability to deal with complex model and ambiguity

Desirable:

  •  Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) (or equivalent)
  • Excellent excel skills, ideally with Power Query and financial modelling.
