THE ROLE

 

The Specialist, Human Resources, has a multi-faceted role supporting our daily operations with an emphasis on HR compliance, key projects, and employee experience. The Specialist understands how their role plays within the team and market, and is passionate about solving issues and bringing clarity to questions, processes, or gaps. The ideal candidate is interested in pursuing an HR career and understanding the value and impact in driving HR compliance.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General HR:

  • Facilitates New Hire Onboarding; Owns content and continuous enrichment of the program
  • Provides excellent care to employees by being an expert in company policies and processes on day-to-day employe inquiries; Defers non-HR or escalated/sensitive concerns to appropriate party or People Business Partner
  • Creates employee letters, newsletters, corporate comms; Pulls reports and creates decks
  • Administers HR local budget, raises Purchase Orders, tracks spend closely, and recommends budget needs for the next fiscal year with the VP, HR; Processes PO & Invoice on time
  • Leads/assists event planning for Calabasas site, such as ordering catering, prepping rooms/products, etc.
  • Inputs and ensures closure of HR/IT tickets for People Business Partners and regularly validates data accuracy in HRIS
  • Any other projects as assigned

US HR Compliance:

  • Stays abreast of changing regulations and advises improvements and compliance adherence
  • Performs and ensures 100% compliance for I-9s, employee files, labor law postings, and policy implementation
  • Submits accurate HR-related filings (AAP, EEO, California Compensation Reporting, etc.) per government deadlines
  • Drives mandatory training completion through reports and dedicated follow ups

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields.
  • 2 years’ relevant experience in human resources
  • Understands and stays on top of labor law and best practices; Able to use internal and external resources to gather applicable information to make educated recommendations
  • Experience in driving projects to completion, managing minute details and pushing to deliver by set deadline while proactively communicating barriers
  • Ability to apply a resourceful, proactive, and solution-oriented approach; familiarity with continuous improvement tools and mindset preferred to recommend and drive improvements
  • Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external partners through effective communication skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate sound business judgement
  • Detail oriented, accurate, and excellent organizational skills: Proficient Excel and Powerpoint skills is preferred

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $31.00 - $38.00 salary per hour. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
