The Role
The Senior Manager, Wella Pro Color will play a pivotal role in one of the key growth areas for the Wella Company, driving strategy and execution to accelerate business growth in the professional salon channel. The role requires strong leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit to build the brand short, mid and long-term strategy and plans in the United States, collaborating very closely with the Global team.
Key responsibilities include lead innovation, activation and go-to-market strategies and plans including content and media (owned, earned and paid), Strong marketing capabilities on brand building, influencer marketing, social media marketing are required, as well as business acumen is critical to drive a high-performance-driven culture in the Team. The role requires strong collaboration skills to build effective partnerships with internal and external local and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads, coaches and develops team by developing brand management skills among direct reports such as brief writing, business performance analysis, ROI calculation, etc; Manages end to end the annual goal plan and performance review process
- Is the expert on professional haircolor in the US: Identifies and leverages US category dynamics & trends, Consumers and Stylists insights and needs and competitive intelligence to develop winning brand strategies and plans in partnership with the consumer/stylist insights team.
- Brand portfolio: Defines, develops and executes the brands’ portfolio strategic choices and plans for professional haircolor; Works closely with trade marketing, sales and education teams to define and develop the brand’s portfolio strategy and Go to market plans.
- Brand innovation: Partners with global team to provide the input and insights to have innovations that will be successful in North America; Defines, develops and delivers the marketing activation plan and builds the go-to-market plans with trade marketing to ensure the brand’s innovation success.
- Brand demand creation and activation plans: Defines, develops and executes the brands’ local communication and activation strategies and plans (content, earned, owned and paid media, e-commerce, search, influencers, education, shopper communication etc.); Understands media sufficiency and recommends appropriate level of activity and spend to be competitive in market and grow market share.
- Brand education: Works closely with the education team to develop brand education strategies and plans that captures the American stylists and their needs and allows the brand to grow market share ahead of the competition.
- Supports Brand P&L management: Ensures hair color innovations and plans help achieve the brand’s top and bottom line growth objectives.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or relevant field of study; MBA preferred
- 6+ years’ relevant work experience in marketing and brand buildings; Previous experience in Professional Beauty, FMCG and/or beauty industry is highly preferred.
- Intermediate technical skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, PowerPoint); Familiarity with consumer data bases and metrics (IRI, Nielsen, NPD, etc.)
- Strong brand building knowledge and skills, including consumer targeting, brand positioning, creative, media planning, channels (social, digital video, programmatic, etc), earned media (influencer marketing and PR), search and e-commerce
- Prior experience evaluating creative work and working with a diversity of external agencies
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Strong financial acumen and ability to understand and manage a brand P&L
- Effective collaboration skills (win for the team) with an ability to influence internal and external stakeholders; Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Previous people management experience preferred
- Driven & ambitious leader with strong sense of ownership, accountability, and results/action-oriented
- Ability to learn fast and operate effectively within rapid change and ambiguity
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $140,000 – 160,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
