THE ROLE

The role of Senior Procurement Manager (Logistics) is to create and drive sourcing and supplier management interventions on critical business segments for the company.  This is an exciting opportunity to influence design and strategic choices in this area, building upon existing plans and experience, while designing and refining to better fit the needs of the company.

Working closely with the Global Procurement Director and the Americas Logistics team, you will be implementing new strategies and capabilities for logistics spend areas (warehousing, transportation, customs clearance etc.). 

You will engage internal stakeholders – regional and global - to review business needs and spend drivers, support strategic choices on spend, ensure strong supplier management and work with logistics leaders, to define the external capabilities needed to deliver value and growth. 

You will work on simplification and optimization to enable stronger supplier relationship management, better capability and more connected business partners to support the growth plans and communication needs of the business. 

You are responsible for driving strategy, savings initiatives and business plans to deliver the fiscal year objectives as well as longer term interventions (3-5 year horizon).

You will work to ensure transparency and governance of spend processes and policies globally, sharing findings, savings and enabling new best practices.

Today the logistics spend represents c200 Million US$ globally.

The role is preferably based at Wella’s Etna Logistics site close to Columbus, Ohio. However, the Wella office in Morris Plains, New Jersey is a potential alternative.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business

  • Refine and implement sourcing strategies and strategic interventions in your categories
  • Deliver fiscal year targets in FY26 and beyond
  • Drive year on year improvement in quality, service, value working via Supplier Relationship Management
  • Enable the use of new tools to make sourcing simpler and more efficient
  • Support business plan for ethical and environmental sourcing and communications
  • Implement governance and control including contractual agreements and policies

 

Organization

  • Develop own capability and knowledge to deliver maximum efficiency and value to business
  • Design and implement processes and tools to support sourcing activities in countries and global teams in your categories
  • Engage and influence stakeholders in Category Strategy definition and implementation
  • Ensure your ongoing training and development in Procurement best practices and skills

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Degree qualified preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or other relevant disciplines.
  • c8-10 years working experience in Procurement and Supply Chain organizations, with at least 3-4 years in logistics procurement.
  • Proven track record of senior stakeholder management, internal and external
  • Experience in implementing, developing and managing sourcing strategies and events in a complex international organization
  • Results oriented individual with solid proven track record in delivering value (cost and cash) and improving effectiveness of sourcing networks
  • Strategic thinking balanced with ability to execute
  • Strong analytical and proven influencing, negotiation and communication skills
  • High degree of fluency in written and spoken English.

 

Desirable:

  • Spanish as a second language.
  • Able to travel in support of business
  • Knowledge of e-sourcing tools
  • Working experience in an international environment and matrix organizations

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $96,200 - $128,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
