THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to join Wella North America Demand Planning team as a Sr. Demand Planning Manager located in Calabasas, CA. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and collaborative demand planning leader who combines strong business acumen with expertise in forecasting and supply chain planning. The individual will be responsible for delivering an accurate, unbiased demand plan across a complex portfolio, translating market trends, commercial intelligence, innovation, and customer insights into actionable forecasts that drive business performance through a robust S&OP process, delivering consensus across senior leadership and General Manager stakeholders.

Partnering closely with commercial and supply chain leaders, the incumbent will own the demand signal across a complex multi-brand, multi-channel North American portfolio, improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory and service levels, enable successful product launches, and lead the evolution of planning capabilities through analytics, technology, and AI-enabled forecasting solutions.

 

 KEY RESPONSBILITIES

 

  • Leads the monthly S&OP demand planning process for assigned North American business divisions, presenting demand plans, risks, opportunities, and key assumptions to senior leadership and driving consensus across commercial, finance, supply chain, and General Manager stakeholders.
  • Influence partners across a matrixed organization through fact-based storytelling, clear assumptions, and concise recommendations
  • Serves as the demand planning lead for a complex North American portfolio, influencing senior leadership decisions through data-driven insights, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations
  • Partners with Sales, Marketing, Trade Marketing, Finance, CPFR, Supply Planning, teams to build forecasts, validate assumptions, and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Drives demand planning for new product launches by validating forecast inputs, challenging assumptions, and aligning cross-functional stakeholders on executable plans.
  • Anticipates supply and demand imbalances and collaborates with stakeholders to develop mitigation plans.
  • Analyzes forecast performance and business trends to improve forecast accuracy, inventory management, and service levels.
  • Champions adoption of advanced analytics, AI-enabled forecasting capabilities, and digital planning solutions to improve forecast accuracy, decision quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Leads capability building within Demand Planning, developing talent, driving planning excellence, and advancing forecasting processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • Drives continuous improvement across demand planning processes, tools, governance, and ways of working to enhance forecasting performance and organizational effectiveness.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in demand or supply planning within a complex, global, multi-channel organization supporting multiple brands, customers, and product portfolios.
  • Experience leading a planning team of 4+ professionals and coordinating work across complex cross-functional stakeholders; including experience developing talent, providing constructive feedback, and building capabilities within the team.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of SAP, Blue Yonder, or an equivalent forecasting/planning tool, including the ability to improve proficiency
  • Previous experience leading the S&OP process, including demand review, forecast alignment, and obtaining senior leadership alignment.
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships with Sales and cross-functional teams to challenge, negotiate, and align forecast assumptions based on statistical trends and commercial intelligence.
  • History of delivering and improving KPIs, using Excel, Microsoft Office, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Ability to build credibility and effective working relationships with diverse teams across geographies
  • Excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound, timely decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information and changing business conditions.

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $130,000 – $140,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role.
