THE ROLE
At Wella, we want to be the best partner to salons. The Regional Sales Manager for the Midwest is responsible for leading, developing and recruiting a direct sales team that services professional beauty salons and schools throughout Ohio plus cities within bordering states. The Midwest team sells the full professional brand portfolio to include Wella Professionals, Nioxin, Sebastian, Clairol Professional, Color Charm, OPI and GHD. The position requires a significant amount of customer interface, people leadership, and regional travel.
This position is accountable to lead the team to increase market share by prospecting and gaining new salon and school doors, as well as to deliver business targets within a defined budget with existing customers. The regional sales manager will maximize the market’s education capacity through hardwiring with the education team to ensure customer strategies are developed and executed with excellence. The demonstration of strong situational management skills and company stewardship are required to develop a high performing organization that is productive and continuously growing their capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver KPIs: accountable to set individual targets cascading from leadership to ensure the team meets/exceeds business and sales targets
- Team Management: Identify the capability and motivation of your team members and tailor your management approach to create an action plan for each individual.
- Coach team to develop sales mastery and implement protocol and standards.
- Operate with excellence: Keep the team focused on priorities, track KPI’s, prioritize co-riding and completion of coaching sessions, lead area sales meetings, role-model by demonstrating.
- Deliver results via HPO execution and building capabilities.
- Strategic Industry Relationships: Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders and industry decision makers (e.g. Key Salon Accounts, Guest Artists, Schools)
- Responsible for personal participation/leadership in industry associations
- Represent Wella Company in professional industry forums in public, on-stage, and digitally through events, shows, programs, meetings, etc.
- Data and Report Management: Development of the territory, team and customers requires strength in data analytics by leveraging business reports and frontline digital tools that help identify trends, standards of excellence, forecasts, strategies, gaps and productivity action plans. In addition, customization of reports, presentations and proposals is integral to gaining alignment with both internal and external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years’ experience in outside sales experience with 3-5 years of sales team management
- Strong leadership, thinking and problem solving, initiative and follow through
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Digitally savvy
- Self-starter and ability to work independently with clear focus on deliverables and KPIs
- Results oriented
- Demonstrates advanced computer skills – Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Strong data management/analytics skills – Power BI experience is a plus
- Up to 40-50% overnight travel in field that can include weekends
- Valid Driver’s License

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, skills and in comparison to internal incumbents currently in similar roles. Pay Range: $86,000-$110,000 salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
