ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for an IT Project Manager that can wear multiple hats from IT PM to IT BA to IT PMO consultant. The Project Manager will act as the “go to” for our business functions and be expected to help advise and guide as required, following the IT PMO Change Delivery Framework for best practice Governance. The successful applicant will be familiar with working within a diverse environment, with excellent interpersonal skills and is confident when dealing with Senior Stakeholders (managing expectations especially) and managing globally located teams.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Capture initial project requirements and ensure all IT PMO steps are followed, then either oversee and support the appointed IT PM or in some cases lead the IT project directly.
  • Effectively estimate costs, timescales and resource requirements.
  • Emphasise the need for a solid Business Case in support of all IT Resource.
  • Guide / Lead and organise with the project team and other project contributors (business, functional experts, Infrastructure and architecture experts) the solution design and implementation (solutions design, configuration, development, testing, migration, go-live and hypercare activities, technical architecture, roadmap of the solutions if required) of the project.
  • Ensure all IT Project artefacts are produced and maintained.
  • Provide regular and accurate reports to stakeholders, as well as managing stakeholder expectations. Know the difference between a Communication Strategy and Communication Plan.
  • Monitor and control project team performance (including 3rd party vendors).
  • Monitor costs, timescales and technical build resources used, take action where these deviate from agreed tolerances.
  • Gain agreement for revisions/scope changes to the Project(s) from Project sponsors. Ensure all CRs follow the IT PMO guidelines.
  • Ensure that the Project is managed through to BAU and Benefit realization.
  • Provide effective leadership to the Project team (including other project managers) ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience. Take appropriate action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
  • Ensure that Projects are formally closed and that lessons learned are captured and actioned.  Produce appropriate documentation to support these processes, and work to improve project practice based on lessons learned.

 

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING ALONG

  • Higher education (University degree) with an orientation in business / technology related fields
  • Project Management qualifications such as PRINCE 2, AGILE, Lean Six Sigma, Business Analysis and IT PMO ways of working of working.
  • 15+ years professional experience in Project/Program Management.
  • Ideally have a good track record in the FMCG industry preferably in R&D and or HR.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, ability to defend the Core Model position.
  • Good knowledge in SAP (ideally having delivered at least one project previously – discuss in interview)
  • Good knowledge of Cloud Service providers
  • Strong Leadership, team management and MUST have a proactive / can do attitude.
  • Ability to get the bigger picture, understand, empathize, and support the demands of the Group IT SLT often with short notice for quality turnaround.
  • Ability to challenge, open minded and active listening.
  • Ability to drive change and ensure alignment at every stage.
  • Have superior communication and interaction skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to collect data and report blocking points.
  • Issue resolution and value realization oriented.
