Data Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and architectures.
You will be working as part of a small team building on and improving existing data engineering and delivery patterns helping drive Wella’s ambition to be more data driven and building data products to enable efficient use of BI and AI within the company.
This role requires expertise in Databricks and Azure, with additional experience in Fivetran and dbt being a plus.
Industry knowledge of Power BI is highly desirable, along with experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Azure.
- Implement ETL/ELT workflows for efficient data processing.
- Integrate Fivetran and Azure Data Factory for automated data ingestion.
- Utilize DBT for data transformation and modelling.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across platforms.
- Leverage Databricks for advanced data engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to deliver high-performance data solutions.
WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING ALONG
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
- Expertise in Databricks, Azure Data Services, and Spark.
- General Azure Cloud Knowledge
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience with data modelling, warehousing, and cloud-based architectures.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DataOps best practices.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Terraform experience
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran for data ingestion.
- Familiarity with dbt for data transformation.
- Exposure to streaming technologies like Kafka or Azure Event Hub.
- Understanding of Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Experience in CPG industry data challenges and solutions.
