ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Front-End Power BI Developer to drive next-generation analytics solutions across Wella’s commercial, marketing, and supply chain functions. In this pivotal role, you will design best-in-class Power BI dashboards that transform data into actionable insights, enabling more informed, faster decision-making across the business.

You will lead dashboard development initiatives, mentor other developers, and act as a strategic partner to business stakeholders—especially in the professional hair care and consumer goods landscape.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

BI Front-End Leadership & Visualization

  • Design and develop advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations that serve a global audience across commercial, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Apply UX/UI best practices to ensure dashboards are intuitive, scalable, and impactful.
  • Optimize report performance and load times through effective use of DAX, filters, and semantic modeling.

Stakeholder Engagement & CPG Context

  • Partner with business leaders to understand core KPIs (e.g., sell-in/sell-out trends, stylist retention, market share, salon profitability).
  • Translate CPG-specific datasets—such as Nielsen, retailer POS, and Salesforce—into meaningful visual insights for internal teams.

Data Integration & Modeling

  • Collaborate closely with data engineers to ensure Power BI models are robust, reliable, and aligned with underlying data pipelines.
  • Build and maintain optimized data models using Power BI Desktop, Power Query (M), and strong SQL skills for custom data transformations.

Mentorship & Best Practices

  • Lead and mentor junior BI developers; establish visualization standards and dashboard governance models.
  • Champion a self-serve BI culture across Wella through enablement and training initiatives.

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING ALONG

  • 10+ years of experience in BI and analytics roles, including 5+ years of advanced Power BI dashboard development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in SQL for data manipulation, validation, and performance optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and complex data modeling for front-end reporting.
  • Proven success leading BI initiatives end-to-end—from stakeholder requirement gathering to dashboard launch and iteration.
  • Experience collaborating with Azure-based data platforms (e.g., Fabric, Synapse, Data Lake, SQL Server).
  • Excellent communication skills; confident engaging across all levels, from analysts to senior executives.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Databricks or similar cloud-native data environments.
  • Exposure to Power Platform tools such as Power Automate or Power Apps.
  • Familiarity with data product development and embedded analytics.
  • Microsoft Power BI certification or equivalent.
