Senior BI Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior BI Developer experience to lead the development of robust, scalable, and business-relevant Power BI solutions. In this role, you will not only deliver high-impact dashboards and data models but also mentor and guide a team of BI Developers. You’ll play a key role in standardizing best practices, reviewing work quality, and fostering a culture of excellence in data visualization and reporting. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong business understanding, and a passion for enabling a data-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Dashboard Development

• Design and develop advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations tailored to business needs
• Apply strong UX/UI principles to build intuitive and high-performance dashboards
• Implement effective DAX logic and filtering strategies to optimize report interactivity and performance

Business Understanding & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with cross-functional business users to understand key metrics and reporting requirements
• Translate business questions into visual analytics solutions, especially in sales, marketing, and supply chain contexts
• Support interpretation of data from multiple sources such as internal KPIs, POS data, or CRM systems like Salesforce

Data Integration & Modeling

• Collaborate with data engineers to align Power BI solutions with underlying data pipelines and warehouse architecture
• Build and maintain semantic models and data transformations using Power BI Desktop, Power Query (M), and SQL
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and consistency across reports

Mentorship & Team Support

• Mentor BI Developers by reviewing dashboard designs, DAX logic, and data modeling approaches
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to support their growth
• Help troubleshoot complex issues faced by junior developers and act as a go-to resource for BI development queries
• Conduct regular knowledge-sharing sessions and promote best practices in Power BI development

Qualifications & Experience

• 7–8 years of experience in BI and analytics roles, with at least 3–5 years focused on Power BI development
• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling in Power BI
• Solid SQL skills for data manipulation, transformation, and performance optimization
• Experience in working with large datasets and multiple data sources, preferably within a commercial or CPG context
• Familiarity with Azure-based data ecosystems such as Data Lake, Synapse, or SQL Server is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with Databricks or similar cloud-native platforms
• Exposure to Power Platform tools (e.g., Power Automate, Power Apps)
• Knowledge of embedded analytics or data product development
• Microsoft Power BI certification or equivalent industry credentials
