Senior Capability Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Capability Manager is responsible for building and enhancing the skills, tools, and processes that enable the sales organization to achieve its business objectives. This role focuses on developing sales capabilities across both professional salon and retail channels, ensuring teams are equipped with the knowledge, training, and resources to drive growth in hair color and styling products.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Sales Capability Development
- Design and implement capability-building programs for sales teams (professional and retail).
- Identify skill gaps and create targeted training plans for product knowledge, consultative selling, and channel-specific strategies.
Training & Coaching
- Deliver training sessions on hair color and styling products, brand positioning, and category trends.
- Support field teams with coaching on negotiation, relationship management, and upselling techniques.
Tools & Processes
- Develop and maintain sales enablement tools (e.g., playbooks, CRM guidelines, digital resources).
- Standardize best practices across channels to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Performance & Analytics
- Monitor capability KPIs (training completion, adoption of tools, impact on sales performance).
- Use data insights to refine programs and ensure continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing, Education, and Commercial teams to align capability programs with brand strategy.
- Partner with HR on competency frameworks and career development for sales roles.
Innovation & Trends
- Stay updated on industry trends in professional haircare and retail sales.
- Introduce new learning technologies and methods (e-learning, gamification, virtual coaching).
WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING ALONG
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5-8 years of progressive commercial experience in FMCG, beauty, or personal care sectors, with proven success in capability area; experience in beauty industry preferred.
- Strong background in sales enablement, training, or capability development.
- Knowledge of professional beauty industry and retail dynamics.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Analytical mindset with ability to measure impact of capability programs.
- Ability to build effective relationships internally & externally, driving shared goals.
- Pro-active attitude and flexible approach.
- Excellent time management skills and prioritization under pressure.
- High attention to detail, strong organization and analytical skills.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in English.
- High numeracy, and excellent PC skills.
