THE ROLE
In this role you will be managing Technical Sustainability in R&D, from the reporting and analysis of environmental data with a focus on carbon, to the implementation of Wella’s ESG KPIs for R&D. Moreover, you will be collaborating with external partners like Raw- and Pack Material suppliers to understand their decarbonization efforts to guide our development and supplier choices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and drive the sustainability data collection and GHG accounting process through our carbon accounting and ESG data tool.
- Collaboration with internal and external Wella’s site network to ensure understanding on Wella’s Sustainability journey and targets. Ensure all parties provide the necessary information/data to track environmental impact.
- Collaborate on defining and executing a decarbonization roadmap to reduce Wella's environmental impact.
- Track progress on R&D’s sustainability key performance indicators (e.g. recycled Pack Materials, biodegradability of Raw Materials, etc.).
- Close collaboration with Wella’s global ESG team and sustainability owners in other functions.
- Advance Wella’s Sustainability knowledge, developing and providing regular training to different functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in Environmental Engineering/Studies or similar, alternatively, a scientific background with proven track record in corporate sustainability.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Corporate Sustainability with experience in GHG Accounting (GHG Protocol), Decarbonization Strategies and Sustainable Supply Chains.
- Experience in cross-functional and cross-level collaboration to develop, agree and execute Wella’s sustainability strategies.
- Hands-on experience in sustainability projects across the value chain with multi-functional teams.
- Distinct independent, structured and professional way of working. Pro-active, analytical, problem-solving mindset. Strong conceptual thinking and high result orientation.
- Willing to help others, respects different cultures / approaches, recognizes the contribution of others.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Fluent English communication (verbal, written) and desirably, basic German skills.
