THE ROLE

This role is to support the implementation and going support of Blue Yonder WMS into Wella owned DCs. The role will provide systems and functional expertise during the design and build phase; support the development of the team and training of the wider organizations and then establish and lead the ongoing structures to support systems issues resolution, configuration, and ongoing optimization of the Blue Yonder WMS across all locations.

Optimization of wider local applications, software and hardware may be required to deliver the optimum efficiency and capability of the distribution centers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze various business needs, help define detailed requirements and suggest potential systemic solutions and improvements.
  • Work with process owners and subject matter experts in defining systemic solutions for various warehouse processes.
  • Provide training, create SOPs and technical support for WMS and its related equipment.
  • Manage WMS releases, configuration, and testing efforts.
  • Lead the ongoing configuration of WMS based on templates and standard configurations.
  • Support / ideally hands-on system configuration of WMS, Functional/System Testing, Integration Testing, Test Script Writing, Training, Go-Live Support, and Post-Startup support.
  • Ensure that WMS integration is maintained end-to-end, with all systems conforming to specifications.
  • Understand business processes and requirements, and translate them to specific software requirements, including Business Requirements Documents and GAP Analysis for extension development.
  • Serve as the point person for WMS support issues and advocate for best implementation practices for the Wella DCs
  • Partner with Wella DCs to translate business specifications into test specifications and scripts, working closely with the dedicated Super Users. Lead and facilitator/moderator of the super-/key user committee.
  • Collaborate with vendors, Wella DCs and Wella business units to perform software testing and reporting on quality metrics.
  • Lead the development and going structure for WMS issue resolution across all locations.
  • Initiate and engage the management team in new technology projects, platform upgrades, and seek approval and buy-in

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 5+ years logistics IT experience within an FMCG or similar industry.
  • Extensive experience of Blue Yonder WMS (Project and operational)
  • Ability to lead and influence people across different geographies, cultures, and levels of the organization.
  • Project management skills – demonstrated delivery of systems, organizational or equipment changes within a logistics environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously, self-motivated, and able to challenge the status quo.
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English
  • Strong knowledge of best practice within the logistics and IT communities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and matrix management skills.
  • Strong presence, ability to develop credibility and natural leadership across different departments, business units and cultures.
  • Strong analytical thinker
  • The role will require periodic international travel.
